Crossroads of Laredo (1948)
Ed's first movie was made during his short-lived partnership with Crawford John Thomas (together, the pair made a bunch of TV commercials under the label "Wood Thomas Productions"). It's a hard-boiled Western adventure about an arrogant cowboy (Nagel) who leaves his wife (Ruth McCabe) sad and unfulfilled. A jealous boyfriend (Wood regular Duke Moore) kills the cowboy, and in the end he...walks away with the wife into the sunset! Crossroads of Laredo (originally titled Streets of Laredo) was not completed during Ed's lifetime because it went overbudget. It is currently, however, available on the Haunted World of Edward D. Wood Jr. DVD.
